The appropriate way to uncover/cover your car

Cars must be looked after properly in order to be kept safe, but vintage models demand a bit more than just a simple polish. This is down to them being made from materials that may have less corrosion protection. Fortunately we know precisely what steps to take to protect them against any threat. Our car covers are a testament to this statement, and have been widely regarded as some of the best on the market by previous clients.

These covers are purpose built to defend a vehicle against the likes of animals, would-be thieves, UV rays, acid rain, snow, sleet and more. Of course, if you don’t use them correctly, they won’t be able to do anything. Installing and removing them in particular has proven to be a challenge for some, which is why we feel it necessary to discuss the subject in detail here.

One trick to covering and uncovering your car is to roll your cover on and off it. First, you need to position it, making sure not to hook it under your vehicle. Grab hold of one third of the material on the driver’s side and fold it on top towards the passenger half. You must do this so that your fold runs along the edge of the trunk, hood, and top. You’ll normally find that each side represents one third of the cover and that the roof makes up the remaining third.

What you have to do next is fold the passenger third over the driver’s side segment. This will mean that you’re left with three layers over your hood, roof, and trunk. Begin rolling at either the hood or the trunk end and roll your cover up without moving it too much. As you’re rolling, walk with it. This shall allow you to lower the number of movements the cover makes as you detach it. For installation, merely repeat the above procedure in reverse, and unroll along the vehicle and fold your side sections down.
